David also liked to experiment with food. His first attempt at making mashed potatoes could have ended in disaster if his sister hadn't intervened. He thought you mashed the potatoes into the water i.e. you didn't drain them first. His first sojourn in the kitchen was at the age of nine. Both Yasi and I had gone down with Chickenpox and were quite ill with it. David made beans on toast. It was nice except he put no butter on the toast. There was also the time he made Christmas dinner. Stupid me thought I would have a lovely relaxing day. I've never washed so many pots in my life!!!!! He forgot there was no kitchen porter. He also forgot to mention he was cooking for about 3 other people, all in different places. He was giving me instructions over the phone on how to prepare the stuff. However it was worth it.
